PUP JPIA Manila’s Team Tanglaw was awarded as the champion in a national competition named "DECRYPT: Cracking the Analytical Code," on March 15.
Team Tanglaw consists of a fourth year BSA student, Romielle Aragon who already has a variety of experiences in case study competitions, and two sophomore BSA students, Kathleen Kelly Reyes and Veniz Velasquez, who are first timers in this kind of competition.
Team 'Pivot Consulting Co.' of Bulacan State University won the first runner-up spot while the team 'Bombastic' of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila placed second runner-up.
The competition is divided into two parts: the elimination round on the 1st day and the final round on the 2nd day which was held on March 14-15.
All of the participants were screened and only five were chosen to be part of the finalists, and three teams from those were able to be present on the day of the event where their outputs are based on learnings they gained from the International Data Analytics webinar of Premier.
DECRYPT is the flagship national data analytics case challenge of the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants - Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila in partnership with the Premier International Learning and Development Center.
Moreover, the event aims to promote academic excellence among the members of the organization by strengthening their knowledge in business case analysis, to develop sense of competitiveness and instill the value of camaraderie and sportsmanship among the participants, to allow members to have a personal test of their knowledge and analytical skills, and to give first-hand experience in dealing with real-life business scenarios in preparation for the corporate world.
