Note from the Editor

By Kirchhoff Angala

It is imperative for the youth to continuously become the lens of our society amidst its complexity as we hold the ability to commit for social change through our ideals and truth, and JPIA-Link wants to be a part of that commitment. We want to be an organization that can shape a democratic landscape that will liberate the flow of our ideas, principles, and ideologies that are in coherent to the truth of our students, university, and its society.

It is a difficult time for all of us given that we are on an unfamiliar terrain of “learning”, and so we want to be a medium that will not just show hope and conjure the university’s supposed warmth amidst the same, but I think first and foremost we want to build an atmosphere capable of advocating change and championing the truth of our students, and of the youth even beyond the corners of our university—because with our current socio-political climate where misinformation is weaponized and accountability seems to be a forgotten memory, this is what we believe is significant.

And with the growing concern of repressing student militancy and silencing dissent, we must hold the line. We should not be silent, and we will not be silenced. As a newly established journalistic entity in our university, the pressure is on us and we are here to heed the call of the responsibility. As our primary principle is, for the immovable truth, we are obliged to remain.
