PUP JPIA Manila FINEST members reach 24th SOASP's Top 25 finalists

Three members of the PUP JPIA Manila FINEST successfully made it to the Top 25 of the recently held 24th Search for Outstanding Accounting Students of the Philippines (SOASP) on March 8.


Finalists from PUP JPIA Manila are Mariel E. Dipolog, John Paul M. Fadrilan, and Daniel C. Terencio who were accompanied by Mr. Mark Anecito R. Perlas, one of PUP JPIA Manila’s Advisers, Ms. Ma. Erica A. De Guzman, PUP JPIA Manila’s President, and Ms. Grezel Joy Denise A. Aglibot, PUP JPIA Manila’s Vice President for Non-Academic Affairs.


Out of more than 400 participating students from 106 schools across the country, the Top 25 Finalists who advanced to the Grand Finals were determined after an Online Qualifying Examination which was held on February 18.


The Online Qualifying Examination was conducted simultaneously which was consists of the subjects Auditing, Management Services (MS), Taxation, Regulatory Framework for Business Transactions (RFBT), Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR), and Advanced FAR (AFAR), and an essay portion.


The delegates competed in the Grand Finals, held face-to-face in PICPA Main Office in Shaw Blvd. Mandaluyong on March 16, and competed in a Quiz Bee covering the same subjects covered during the Qualifying Examination.


Meanwhile, other delegates who also represented the PUP JPIA Manila were Perbielyn A. Basinillo, Joshua M. Carlos, and Ren Gabriel D. Velasco.


SOASP is organized by the P&A Foundation Inc., Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), and the Association of Certified Public Accountants in Commerce and Industry (ACPACI).


The event is an annual national competition that aims to shine the spotlight on the country’s top accountancy students through qualifying examinations and interviews.
