The PUP JPIA Link has welcomed its new set of writers with 12 qualified and eager participants joining the writing workshop via zoom, March 14-15.
At the event, participants were given an opportunity to apply what they have learned from the speakers in different categories and the Editorial Board ranked them per category to become officially part of the publication.
The winners are Krystal Pasco, Kenneth Gomez, and Kim Virtudazo for News Writing; Alexandra Nera, Kim Virtudazo, and Alexandra Blitz for Feature Writing; Syra Ruiz, Krystal Pasco, and Kim Virtudazo for Editorial Writing; Randel Bautista, Russel Dave Laguican, and Kim Virtudazo for Literary Writing.
Ms. Kathleen Kelly Reyes, the Managing Editor, opened the program by acknowledging all participants who actively support and show their interest in the event.
The speakers were Kristian Denise Maglipon, the News Editor who shared knowledge in News Writing, and Ms. Juliana Climaco, the Editor-in-Chief in Feature Writing on the first day of the workshop while on its second day, Ms. Alexis Almeyda, the Associate Editor taught about Editorial Writing, and Ms. Mharchelle Agustin, the Feature Editor focused on Literary Writing.
"As the EIC of this publication, I just want to say something to each and every one of you on this meeting. We write not only to impress, but also to express. Not for our personal interest, but for the community we serve. I formally welcome you all to PUP JPIA Link 2022," said Ms. Juliana Climaco, the Editor-in-Chief, to the participants as she had her closing remarks on the writing workshop.
