PUP CAF Faculty members pass Bar 2022 exams


Over 11,000 examinees, PUP College of Accountancy and Finance Faculty members, Prof. Gerwin M. Ortega, MBA, CPA, and Prof. Boncarlo John Joseph R. Uneta, CPA are among the Bar Examination Batch 2020-2021, February 2022 passers.


As recently announced by Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Board on its official website and other social media accounts, 8,241 out of 11,402, which is equivalent to 72.28% of examinees successfully passing the Bar 2022 examinations.


Although the highest passing rate in history was the 1954 Bar with 75.17%, the recent result of 72.28% is still a record high, where the Bar Chairperson Associate Justice Marvic Leonen, called it the “Best Bar Ever”.


The first digitalized and decentralized Bar Examinations in the Philippines were recorded because the first time in history that the Bar skipped a year when the pandemic canceled the 2020 Bar, thus, two batches of law graduates took the 2020/2021 Bar Examinations.


Furthermore, as per Supreme Court's Bar Matter Resolution No. 3490 released on January 4, 2022, a total of 11,790 individuals have spent their application to take the examinations which were headed by the 2020/21 Bar Examinations Chairperson, Justice Marvic M.V.F. Leonen in partnership with several Local Government Units (LGUs) nationwide.


Meanwhile, the PUP College of Law is among the Top 5 Performing Law Schools in the recent Bar Examinations, recording an 88% passing rate.


The passers from the university acquired an 88.8889% passing percentage, with 64 passers, of which 10 of them are Exemplary Passers.
