'Moulin Rouge' themed MMJ 2022 crowns its stars



With the theme "Moulin Rouge", Mr. and Ms. JPIA 2022 pageant, presented by PUP JPIA Manila, promoting beauty, wit, and values, was held successfully on March 27.


Mr. Mhico Mateo and Ms. Jhascefel Marishane Zulueta were crowned as the Mr. and Ms. JPIA 2022 respectively, who both won the cash prize of P5,000 and were both given the obligation to work with JPIA Councils for the whole federation.


Mr. Mateo also won minor awards such as Best in Theme Wear, People Choice Award, and Best Pansarela, while Ms. Zulueta received the awards of being Best Pasarela, Best in Resorts Wear, and Best in Evening Gown.


"Pre-marital sex should not be stopped and we can never stop people from doing it. It's just that we have to have a better education for us students and should start in our schools for us to be able to have a better community wherein Pre-marital sex is not a taboo subject anymore," said Mr. JPIA 2022, Mhico Mateo, who is also an advocate of HIV Awareness on the final question and answer portion.


Ms. JPIA 2022, Jhascefel Marishane S. Zulueta, who is an advocate of Gender and Development stated that the pageant allows her to express and address issues related to her advocacy such as misogyny, gender stereotypes, gender bias, "This pageant reminded me that I'm doing this movement not just for myself, not just for the women of today, but also, for the little girls of the future".


Furthermore, Mr. Francis Kyle Tablazon and Ms. Nicole Banda are the 1st Runners Up; Mr. Ronald Dantes Jr. and Ms. Felicity Umlas as the 2nd Runners Up; and Mr. Randel Bautista and Ms. Frincess Nicole Cordovero are the 3rd Runners Up are the major prizes and titleholders. For the Specials Awards, Best in Theme Wear was received by Mr. Mhico Mateo and Ms. Felicity Umlas; People Choice Award is Mr. Mhico Mateo; Best Pansarela Awards are Mr. Mhico Mateo and Ms. Jhascefel Marishane Zulueta; Best in Resorts Wear are Mr. Francis Kyle Tablazon and Ms. Jhascefel Marishane Zulueta; Best in Formal Wear is Mr. Francis Kyle Tablazon, and the Best in Evening Gown is Ms. Jhascefel Marishane Zulueta.


Hosted by Lynette Nacionales and Dustin Josh Ramirez, the event featured the guest speaker Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2021, Ms. Samantha Panlilio, and the judges Ms. Michele Angela Okol, Mr. Romel Ayag, and Ms. Camille Marie Culvera.


Mr. and Ms. JPIA 2022 holds truth in fulfilling the activities toward the promotion of social awareness to every member of PUP JPIA Manila throughout the support of the title holders of the pageantry.


The newly crowned Mr. and Ms. JPIA will be the representatives of PUP JPIA Manila for Mr. and Ms. Ambassador of Goodwill - National Capital Region (NCR) 2022, Mr. and Ms. PUP 2022, and Mr. and Ms. PUP Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants 2022, whichever of the events will happen this school year.
