Down to 10: Kathleen Kelly D. Reyes conquers "Kasukdulan" of the 1st Trammels of Champion

Kathleen Kelly D. Reyes, a second year BS Accountancy student at Polytechnic University of the Philippines - Sta. Mesa Campus made it to the Top 10 Finalists of “1st Trammels of Champions: A Hundred of Ways of Unlocking Knowledge at the Speed of Thought” organized by National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants. She is the Managing Editor of PUP JPIA Link and a member of Perennial Relations Committee under Membership Department of PUP JPIA Manila.

Reyes admitted that she did not have a chance to actually prepare for the competition. She has her quizzes and exams and the 1st trammels of champion to balance. The time and pressure became a challenge for her during the competition, but she said that reviewing for her quizzes and exams became her preparation for the rounds and with the Grace of God she conquered it and made it this far.

“Actually, there was no actual preparation, ang maganda lang is makadikit ‘yung date ng quizzes and exams ko sa competition kaya kahit papaano, nakakapag-review ako para doon…dahil nga magkasunod na araw ‘yung competition and quizzes, medyo nakulangan ako sa time and pressured na rin with dealing with everything though the Grace of God, nalampasan naman,” Reyes said.

She stated that since her freshman year, she really wanted to experience competing and this year she got the opportunity to do so and was happy and grateful for what she already achieved, and she had a fun experience every round.

The competition started off with 100 prodigies down to top 50 marvels and now there are only 10 tributes left to face the last phase of trammels of champions, Hantungan which the coverage consists of Basic and Fundamentals Accounting, Financial Assets and Liabilities, General Mathematics, Conceptual Framework, Partnership Accounting, Cost Accounting, Financial Markets, and Intermediate Accounting 1.

In accordance with the Implementation of Rules and Regulations of the event, the last phase will be on March 12, Saturday. Let us cheer for Kathleen Kelly D. Reyes for her triumph over "Hantungan"!
