CAF SC issues unity statement

As a response to the Office of the Vice President for the Academic Affairs Memorandum Order No. 5, Series of 2022, PUP College of Accountancy and Finance Student Council, together with its partner organizations, released a unity statement on April 4.

The said partner organizations of PUP CAF Student Council in the unity statement are Junior Financial Executives (JFINEX) - PUP, PUP Beta Epsilon Sigma (BES) Honors Society, PUP Hiyas ng Silangan (HNS) Honors Society, Sandigan ng Mag-aaral para sa Sambayanan (SAMASA) CAF, Anakbayan CAF, and PUP Students' Party for Equality and Advancement of Knowledge (SPEAK).

According to them, the memorandum proves that the university does not recognize the conditions of its constituents as they implement anti-student policies without any student consultations.

Additionally, the council emphasized that despite the lifting of the Alert level 1 around NCR, it does not guarantee that students are equipped mentally and socioeconomically, especially since other factors intensify students’ dilemmas.

“The students deserve better than policies that turn a blind eye to different conditions. No student must be left behind,” said PUP CAF Student Council on its Facebook page post.

Meanwhile, with the #CAFWalangIwanan mantra of the PUP CAF Student Council, they seek the help of students in solidifying the protest through their sensing form.

Other student councils, student publications, formations, and organizations of the university have given their support and unitedly stood for the welfare of the latter.
